For providers
Evaluate the patient, establish a documented medical and functional need, write the order or prescription when appropriate, and send required records through the supplier’s approved secure channel.
Provider-directed access
ISO Metrik is developing a DME/DMEPOS access pathway that connects treating providers, patients, and qualified suppliers. Coverage, coding, payment, and commercial availability are not yet established.
FDA 510(k) pending. This page describes a prospective access workflow; it does not establish market authorization, DME classification, code assignment, insurance coverage, payment, or supplier acceptance.
One pathway, three audiences
The intended pathway separates clinical decisions from supplier and payer functions. A treating provider evaluates the patient and documents the need; a qualified DME/DMEPOS supplier reviews the order, documentation, coding, benefits, and fulfillment requirements; the patient receives provider-guided setup and follow-up when access is authorized and appropriate.
Choose your route
Each participant has a different role. No party should assume that a prescription, code, or benefits check guarantees coverage or payment.
Evaluate the patient, establish a documented medical and functional need, write the order or prescription when appropriate, and send required records through the supplier’s approved secure channel.
Complete the supplier’s secure intake, provide current benefit information, respond to documentation requests, review possible financial responsibility, and follow the treating provider’s instructions.
Confirm regulatory and product status, supplier eligibility, benefit-category fit, coding, documentation, authorization, patient responsibility, fulfillment, proof of delivery, education, and follow-up.
Supplier pathway
The clinical team determines whether an order is appropriate. The participating supplier—not the public website—conducts secure intake, reviews payer and supplier requirements, and manages any claim or patient-payment pathway after applicable regulatory prerequisites are satisfied.

DME/DMEPOS ordering pathway
This is the intended future-state workflow. Each step remains subject to FDA status, supplier readiness, payer requirements, and the patient’s individual circumstances.
The treating provider identifies the diagnosis or condition, functional limitation, examination findings, precautions, goals, and whether a device order is clinically appropriate.
The authorized treating practitioner completes a signed and dated order containing the item description, quantity when applicable, and other elements required by the supplier and payer.
The provider transmits relevant medical-necessity records, evaluation findings, treatment history, and payer-specific forms through an approved secure channel.
The supplier reviews eligibility, network status, benefit category, exclusions, authorization rules, deductible, coinsurance, and possible patient responsibility. Verification is not a guarantee of payment.
The supplier confirms regulatory and supplier prerequisites, coding, documentation completeness, prior authorization when required, and the appropriate covered, noncovered, or self-pay pathway.
After all applicable requirements are satisfied and the patient accepts the financial terms, the supplier coordinates delivery, required records, device accountability, and proof of delivery.
A trained provider manages fit, education, exercise parameters, safety, reassessment, continued need, and any replacement-supply plan within the applicable care pathway.
Documentation readiness
Exact requirements vary by payer, item, supplier, jurisdiction, and benefit category. The supplier should identify the current checklist for each order.
Current demographic, insurance, eligibility, plan, and coordination-of-benefits information collected only through an approved secure intake process.
A complete order or prescription with the required patient, item, quantity, practitioner, date, signature, and identifier elements.
Diagnosis or condition, history, examination findings, functional limitations, objective measures, goals, precautions, and why the item is being considered.
Prior or current interventions, response, unmet functional need, and the reason the proposed device pathway is clinically relevant.
Coverage policy, benefit-category criteria, authorization forms, network rules, coding guidance, and additional records requested for review.
Patient acceptance, financial notice when applicable, proof of delivery, setup or education, provider follow-up, continued need, and replacement-supply documentation.
Coverage and coding boundaries
The following boundaries are shown publicly so an access discussion is not mistaken for an FDA, CMS, payer, or supplier decision.
Benefit-category status • Not established
Medicare classifies an item as DME only when all applicable durability, medical-purpose, illness-or-injury, repeated-use, useful-life, and home-use conditions are met. This page does not state that ISO Metrik currently meets a Medicare DME benefit category.
HCPCS status • No dedicated code assigned
ISO Metrik does not currently have a dedicated HCPCS Level II code. Coding must be evaluated by the supplier and payer. CMS states that coding is not a coverage or payment methodology and that a code does not itself determine Medicare coverage or noncoverage.
Documentation • Payer and item specific
For Medicare DMEPOS claims, CMS identifies a written order, medical-record support, correct coding, and proof of delivery as general documentation requirements. Some items also require a face-to-face encounter, prior authorization, or a written order before delivery.
Regulatory status • FDA 510(k) pending
ISO Metrik has not received FDA 510(k) clearance for the proposed clinical uses described on this site. FDA states that a submitter may not market a device requiring 510(k) clearance until FDA issues a substantial-equivalence order.
Next handoff
These public links start general coordination only. Do not submit patient names, dates of birth, medical records, insurance identifiers, or other protected health information through general website forms, email, or AI chat.
Clinical pathway
Review the professional referral framework and request instructions for an approved secure handoff. A general inquiry is not a completed prescription or DME order.
Existing order support
Use Track Order for an existing website order number and billing email. DME benefits, authorization, and claim status must be checked through the participating supplier’s secure channel.
Partner readiness
DME organizations can discuss regulatory readiness, product review, supplier requirements, documentation, coding, intake, fulfillment, education, follow-up, and future program participation.
Next step
Providers, health systems, and DME organizations can discuss future participation, secure intake, documentation readiness, supplier responsibilities, fulfillment controls, and provider-guided follow-up.
