For neurologists, PM&R, ENT, and referring clinicians

Connect diagnosis to a structured facial rehabilitation pathway.

ISO Metrik gives trained rehabilitation professionals a configurable resistance platform—and gives referring providers a defined route from evaluation through documented progress.

The treating therapist determines fit, exercise parameters, and progression after evaluation.

A clearer handoff

Facial rehabilitation can begin where medical management leaves off.

Patients may be medically stable yet continue to experience weakness, asymmetry, reduced lip control, speech or eating limitations, and participation concerns. ISO Metrik is intended to support a rehabilitation plan—not diagnose disease, alter medical treatment, or replace specialist care.

How it works

Understand what the patient is referred into.

ISO Metrik is used inside a rehabilitation workflow rather than as a stand-alone diagnosis or treatment decision. These videos show the device and its primary orientations so referring providers can understand the mechanical setup a trained PT or SLP may use after evaluation.

Device overview

The system combines a bite plate, glide bar, lip holders, cushions, and adjustable resistance bands. The rehabilitation clinician determines candidacy, movement direction, resistance, dosage, monitoring, and progression.

01

Stabilize

The bite plate provides the intraoral anchor while the clinician confirms fit, comfort, jaw position, and safe use.

02

Guide

The stainless-steel glide bar links the bite plate and lip holders and provides a controlled track and measurement reference for movement.

03

Engage

The lip holders provide the contact point for clinician-directed facial movement while the patient performs the selected task with controlled form.

04

Progress

Resistance bands provide adjustable external load. The treating clinician selects orientation, resistance, repetitions, hold time, rest, and progression based on the patient response.

Device placements

Horizontal, vertical, and 45-degree orientations.

Horizontal placement

Demonstrates the horizontal device orientation and controlled movement pattern.

Vertical placement

Demonstrates the vertical device orientation and controlled movement pattern.

45-degree placement

Demonstrates the 45-degree right/left orientation used when a clinician selects an oblique movement direction.

The videos are educational demonstrations. Referral for rehabilitation does not prescribe a specific orientation, resistance level, or exercise dose; those decisions remain with the treating clinician after evaluation.

Referral considerations

When a rehabilitation evaluation may be appropriate.

01

Persistent facial weakness

Movement loss or asymmetry continues after the acute medical phase and affects daily function or participation.

02

Oral-motor impact

Labial weakness or control problems are contributing to speech, saliva management, or eating and drinking concerns.

03

Need for structured home practice

The patient needs a consistent, therapist-directed program rather than unsupervised facial exercise.

04

Complex care transition

The patient is moving from hospital, specialist, or post-surgical care into outpatient or home rehabilitation.

Care-team fit

Built for multidisciplinary pathways.

ISO Metrik can sit within care models led by neurology, physiatry, otolaryngology, neurosurgery, oral and maxillofacial care, dentistry, primary care, and rehabilitation.

  • Medical provider establishes diagnosis and precautions
  • PT or SLP evaluates impairment and functional goals
  • Therapist configures and teaches device use
  • Patient follows the prescribed clinic and home plan
  • Care team receives documented progress and escalations

Referral pathway

Four steps from concern to coordinated care.

  1. 1

    Identify the concern

Document diagnosis, onset, medical status, precautions, and the functional reason for referral.

  2. 2

    Refer for rehabilitation evaluation

Direct the patient to a trained PT or SLP service for candidacy, baseline measures, and goal setting.

  3. 3

    Initiate provider-directed treatment

The therapist determines whether ISO Metrik is appropriate and selects parameters based on response.

  4. 4

    Review progress

Use therapist reporting to coordinate continued care, additional workup, or modification of the plan.

Provider communication

The report should answer the clinical question.

01

Baseline

Presentation, functional limitations, relevant precautions, examination findings, and patient-centered goals.

02

Intervention

Device orientation, therapy mode, resistance parameters, dosage, home plan, and tolerance.

03

Response

Change in appropriate measures, functional progress, adverse response, adherence, and next recommendation.

Next step

Add a facial rehabilitation option to your referral network.

Request the referral framework, clinician brief, and information about trained treatment locations or an institutional pilot.
