Refer or prescribe

Start with a rehabilitation evaluation—not a generic device order.

The strongest pathway connects medical diagnosis and precautions with a trained therapist who can determine candidacy, establish baseline measures, and configure the ISO Metrik program.

Do not send patient names, dates of birth, records, images, or other protected health information through a general website inquiry.

Referral intent

Direct the patient to the right professional and the right question.

A referral should communicate why facial rehabilitation is being requested and what medical considerations matter. The treating PT or SLP then evaluates whether the device is appropriate and how it should be used within the overall plan of care.

Consider an evaluation when

Facial weakness is affecting meaningful function.

01

Movement or symmetry

The patient has persistent weakness, reduced excursion, poor selective control, or asymmetry that affects participation.

02

Lip and oral control

There are concerns with labial seal, saliva containment, articulation, oral transit, or related oral-motor function.

03

Care transition

The patient is leaving acute, specialist, surgical, or inpatient care and needs a defined rehabilitation pathway.

04

Home-program structure

The patient would benefit from supervised teaching and a repeatable provider-directed program between visits.

What to include

Give the therapist the clinical context—through a secure channel.

Use your established HIPAA-compliant referral process to transmit patient-specific information. A general inquiry to ISO Metrik should contain professional contact details only.

  • Diagnosis, onset, relevant procedures, and medical stability
  • Functional facial, speech, eating, or oral-control concerns
  • Precautions, restrictions, red flags, and relevant specialists
  • Reason for PT or SLP evaluation
  • Preferred communication and follow-up pathway

The pathway

A referral designed for coordinated care.

  1. 1

    Medical provider identifies need

Establish diagnosis, address urgent issues, document precautions, and define the reason for rehabilitation.

  2. 2

    Trained therapist evaluates

Assess candidacy, baseline impairment, functional priorities, patient factors, and contraindications.

  3. 3

    Therapist plans treatment

When appropriate, select the ISO Metrik fit, orientation, mode, resistance, dosage, and home program.

  4. 4

    Care team reviews response

Receive documentation of tolerance, adherence, measured change, functional progress, and further recommendations.

Choose your next step

Three ways to begin.

01

Provider consultation

Ask about candidacy, referral language, professional roles, regulatory status, and the care pathway.

02

Clinic connection

Discuss trained rehabilitation services or how a local PT or SLP team can prepare to offer treatment.

03

Institutional pathway

Explore a service-line pilot involving medical, rehabilitation, research, and operational stakeholders.

Next step

Speak with the ISO Metrik clinical team.

Tell us your role, organization, location, and whether you are exploring a referral, clinician training, or a broader care pathway.
